1. The Short Version
PlayfulBayNest is designed to respect your privacy. We don't ask for your name, email, or any personal details. We don't run user accounts. We don't sell or share any personal information — because we don't collect any in the first place.
The only data stored is in your own browser (via localStorage) and never reaches our servers.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the absolute minimum needed to operate the Service. Specifically:
2.1. Data stored locally in your browser (not transmitted)
- Age verification flag — a boolean that records that you've confirmed you're 18+.
- Date of birth — the value you entered into the age gate (for your reference; never sent to a server).
- Virtual balance — your current Gold Coin count.
- Daily bonus timestamp — the last time you claimed your daily bonus.
- Game history — your most recent 50 spins (time, bet, win).
- Settings — your animation preferences.
- Self-exclusion status — if you've activated a self-exclusion period.
This data is stored exclusively via the browser localStorage API on your device. It is not transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any server we operate.
2.2. Data we may receive automatically
- Standard server logs — when you request a page, our hosting provider may log your IP address, user agent, referrer, and timestamp for security and analytics purposes. These logs are retained for a short period and are not linked to any personal profile.
- Aggregate, anonymized analytics — we may use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. Plausible or a self-hosted solution) that does not set tracking cookies and does not identify individual users.
3. Cookies
PlayfulBayNest does not set any tracking, advertising, or third-party cookies. The only persistent storage we use is the browser localStorage described above, which is separate from cookies and not transmitted to any third party.
4. Third-Party Services
To deliver the Service, we rely on a small number of third parties:
- Google Fonts — to load typography. Google may log requests as part of operating its font CDN. See Google's privacy policy.
- Hosting provider — to serve our static files and route requests. Logs may be retained per the provider's standard practices.
- Linked helplines — clicking outbound links to ConnexOntario, GameSense, Gambling Therapy, etc. will take you to those organizations' sites, each with their own privacy practices.
We do not embed advertising, social-media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts that follow you across the web.
5. Children's Privacy
PlayfulBayNest is intended for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has accessed the Service, please contact us so we can investigate.
6. Your Rights (PIPEDA)
As a Canadian user, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), including the right to access any personal information we hold about you and to request its correction. Because we collect almost no personal information, most of these rights are not applicable — but if you have a specific request, please contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
You can also clear all locally stored data at any time via the Responsible Gaming page, or by clearing your browser's site data.
7. Data Security
Because we don't store personal data on our servers, the largest privacy risk is on your own device. We recommend:
- Not sharing devices if you don't want your play history visible to others.
- Using a modern, up-to-date browser.
- Clearing site data if you use a shared or public computer.
8. International Users
PlayfulBayNest is targeted at Canadian users. If you access the Service from outside Canada, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Economic Area or other applicable frameworks.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the current version. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
